Real Madrid have two main targets in mind for the upcoming summer transfer window: Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland. Everyone else is an alternate plan or merely imagined fantasy. Mbappe and Haaland are the two young superstars who can be foundational players and goal-scorers for this team for the next 10 years to come, and they are the priorities.

Between the two of them, Mbappe fills a bigger need in the XI and has been the more established dream target for Los Blancos. And it seems like Real are starting to see a real opening to sign him in 2021. It is them, PSG, or bust.

According to a report from Le Parisien, via Cadena SER (article in Spanish), PSG are starting to get “impatient” with Kylian Mbappe’s situation. We saw Tomas Gonzalez-Martin of ABC Deportes report earlier that Mbappe rejected a fourth renewal attempt from the Ligue 1 giants.

Now, PSG seem resigned to selling Mbappe, since they cannot re-sign the player. And Le Parisien state that PSG’s asking price is now set between 120 to 150 million euros, which is far more reasonable than the 225 million figure that Gonzalez-Martin was reporting.

120-150 million euros is a fair price for Real Madrid to sign Kylian Mbappe

That’s a fair price for Mbappe, and it’s one Real could conceivably meet with the right sales. There are reportedly nine players on Real’s transfer list to sell this summer, and most of them are reasonable exits. The ones who cannot fetch a fee will clear valuable space in the squad. Getting rid of Gareth Bale would be a huge boost, too, due to his wages of 30 million euros, which is a sum Mbappe probably wants.

Real Madrid are the clear favorites to sign Mbappe, and he has always seemed ambitious about joining Los Merengues. Hence why he has resisted a lucrative renewal from PSG for so long. For years, we have been writing about and tracking Mbappe in transfer rumors, and it appears the summer 2021 move could be a reality.

Haaland will be just as costly as Mbappe, and Real have even more of an advantage over the competition when it comes to signing the PSG star. Certainly, they enjoy a better relationship with the French club than Barcelona.

There could be some more turns in the saga, but a price tag of 120-150 million euros for Mbappe is one Real Madrid fans should be happy about. It means Los Blancos really do have a fighting chance to sign him, as bad as the economic situation is. PSG can’t lose Mbappe for nothing in 2022, and if he only wants Real, then Los Blancos are in a great position indeed.
