Real Madrid seem ready to make a big splash in the 2021 summer transfer window, with most of the rumors linking Los Blancos to a new top scorer. It is undoubtedly their biggest need, judging by how Real have struggled this season, particularly against weaker sides deploying a more strict low block against them.

Los Blancos know they need to fortify their squad with top talent who can lead the way and define a new era at the Santiago Bernabeu. And there are three talents on Real’s radar who qualify as “generationally” good.

PSG FW Kylian Mbappe

The first of them is the most obvious, because he has been linked to Real Madrid for nearly two years. Former Monaco man Kylian Mbappe is in the midst of another strong season at PSG, having recently produced one of his finest individual performances on a big stage by putting three past Barcelona at the Camp Nou.

Mbappe is at exactly 20 goals in Ligue 1 and 30 goals in all competitions thus far in 2020-2021. Real Madrid have never gotten 20 goals from a wide forward since Cristiano Ronaldo left, so you know they are circling Mbappe’s name in red ink at the very top of their wishlist.

The 2018 World Cup hero is “generational” in every sense of the word. And whenever we see quotes from him, we get a feeling that he is cut from the same cloth as the greatest players who have ever suited up in Royal White.
