Real Madrid Predicted Lineup vs Real Betis: Another Match With Youth Players
Only three days after their comfortable 3-0 win against Cadiz in La Liga, Real Madrid prepare to take on Real Betis in a game that will surely test Los Merengues a lot more than the Cadiz match did. With one eye on the game and the other on a semifinal match against Chelsea in midweek, it will be very interesting to see what Zinedine Zidane has in mind coming into this game. Against Getafe, we saw Victor Chust start, and against Cadiz, Antonio Blanco made his full debut. Will we see any of our youth players take part once again?
Goalkeeper
Our canteranos may be taking part in this game to give other players some rest but it will not be in the goalkeeping position. Thibaut Courtois will be expected to start as our goalkeeper as usual on the night after consistently putting in some very strong performances over the course of the season.
Defenders
One of the best moments of the game against Cadiz for many of us was seeing the return of Dani Carvajal although it’s very unlikely that he will start this game after his 60-minute cameo on Wednesday. However, he will almost definitely come on during the second half in place of the man expected to start – Alvaro Odriozola.
The Spaniard had one of his better games against Cadiz and was able to score what is only his second goal for Real Madrid. He will want to build on that. In the center, we will most probably see Raphael Varane start once again alongside one of our most consistent players over the past month in Eder Militao.
A slight change can be expected at left-back as it seems the best choice would be to rest Marcelo since Ferland Mendy is injured and start with what could be a full debut for Miguel Gutierrez but it’s risky for Zidane to take a risk there so he may end up going with Nacho Fernandez at left-back.
Midfielders
There is almost no doubt that Carlos Casemiro will be starting this match as his importance on the team cannot be overexaggerated. The Brazilian will be accompanied by Antonio Blanco once again after an impressive performance against Cadiz with the final midfielder possibly being Toni Kroos who is expected to return. Luka Modric is also expected to be fit after having back pain but starting him may do more harm than good.
Forwards
Is it possible that Zidane could go with the same front three he fielded on Wednesday night? Doubtful if you know Zidane but don’t expect many changes to be made either. Vinicius Junior should be the player on the left while Karim Benzema will start as the striker after two goals and an assist against Cadiz helped the team win fairly comfortably.
Rodrygo Goes played the full 90 minutes on Wednesday, and we may see Marco Asensio return to the starting lineup. I know this has been said for weeks now but Eden Hazard could be called up and if he is, he’ll definitely have minutes before also doing so against Chelsea in midweek if all goes to plan.
