4. Celta Vigo CF Iago Aspas

Iago Aspas is the heart and soul of Celta Vigo. If you take Aspas out of Vigo, Celta loses its spirit. He is one of the best all-around strikers in all of Europe, as he can score with precision while also dropping deep to facilitate play.

Aspas is tied with Marcos Llorente for the league lead with 10 assists. And this is despite the fact that Aspas must carry the goal-scoring load for a team that is in 12th place and more than 10 points behind Real Betis in the final Europa League slot.

Chance-creation, clinical finishing, and leadership. Aspas is indispensable to Celta Vigo.

3. Villarreal ST Gerardo Moreno

We move on to another supremely talented Spanish international playing up top and scoring a boatload of goals for his team. Gerardo Moreno just might be the most underrated player in the world, because he is legitimately a world-class striker yet many fans do not seem to know of his greatness for the Yellow Submarine.

A top performer last season, Moreno has been even better in 2020-2021 and is in the thick of the Pichichi race for Unai Emery’s side. Moreno has scored 20 times this season, leading the way by contributing to 41 percent of his team’s goals.

Beyond the goals, Moreno has been a reliable source of creation for Villarreal. The Europa League semifinalist has five assists in La Liga, to go with a pair of assists in European competition. Moreno, according to WhoScored.com, is even averaging 2.3 dribbles completed per game and 1.8 fouls drawn. We tend to think of Moreno for his clinical left foot, but he’s been providing so much more to this Villarreal side.
