CM Antonio Blanco

Antonio Blanco had an encouraging month of April. He is the talk of the town, so to speak. After making his debut off the bench against Getafe, Blanco made his first start at Cadiz. And Real Madrid won that game 3-0, with Blanco showing off some nice touches in the match. According to WhoScored.com, the Castilla man completed over 90 percent of his passes in both appearances.

Since Real Madrid may rest both Toni Kroos and Luka Modric – and should certainly hold out at least one of them, despite the fact that the title is on the line – Blanco looks like a great bet to start this Saturday night.

Blanco is a player who can be the future of Real’s midfield. He is not as hyped as Fede Valverde and has not shown as much as the Uruguayan in the first team, but the UEFA Youth Champion is a great leader and talent in his own right.

By performing at a high level against Osasuna, Blanco can show Madridistas another example of his quality. We’ll have to see more of how he contributes to Real on the ball, but he did look good against Cadiz last week. And he adds defensive stability, as we saw in 30 minutes at Getafe.
