FW Rodrygo Goes

Rodrygo Goes has played fewer minutes this season than 16 Real Madrid players in La Liga. Isco, Marcelo, and even the oft-injured duo of Dani Carvajal and Sergio Ramos have logged more minutes than Rodrygo’s 780 in the league.

The 20-year-old came off the bench for limited minutes in the recent Champions League fixtures against Liverpool and Chelsea, but he did start in the last three league matches against Getafe, Cadiz, and Real Betis.

As you’d expect, the young Brazilian was not very good in the 0-0 draws, but he was effective in the 3-0 win over Cadiz. Still, we haven’t seen Rodrygo at his best since his return from that injury against Granada.

Hopefully, Rodrygo can start against Osasuna and shine. The question is, where will he start? Perhaps we could see him across from Sergio Arribas, starting in his preferred position on the left-hand side as Vinicius Junior gets a full 90 of rest while Eden Hazard makes a third straight cameo in preparation for Chelsea.

Matchday 34 could be Rodrygo’s time to lead the way and help Karim Benzema out. Benzema has contributed to Real’s four goals in their last five matches, and he needs some more support. Vini and Asensio have not got it done lately. Neither has Rodrygo, to be honest. But maybe he can make it right on Saturday night.
