Real Madrid proved they have what it takes

As disappointing as it was to see Real Madrid drop points against Getafe and Real Betis and then produce a lifeless first half vs. Chelsea, there are so many more positives to take away from the month of April. Because even in the cases of those scoreless draws, Real didn’t lose.

Better yet, they were amazing in the other matches. The 3-0 win over Cadiz was revenge for an early-season loss to the newly-promoted La Liga side. Three positive results in a row against Liverpool and Barcelona to start the month is the real reason why I say Los Blancos proved they have what it takes to win both La Liga and the Champions League.

In this grueling season with injuries piling up, Real showed their resiliency in that tough stretch of matches. By the second leg against Liverpool, Los Blancos were still without both Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane while they were also missing Dani Carvajal and then Lucas Vazquez. Yet they still kept a clean sheet with Fede Valverde at right back!

So many players have stepped up for Los Merengues this month and so many more will need to step up next month. Now Carvajal is, like Vazquez, done for the season, too.

Despite the setbacks, Real Madrid have rebounded each and every time. This team can pull off something special in 2020-2021.
