Real Madrid vs. Sevilla, May 9

Don’t look now, but Sevilla are just as much a part of the 2020-2021 La Liga title race as Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid, and Barcelona. Julen Lopetegui’s men have flown under the radar, but that should stop now. They are merely one point behind both Real and Barça, and they are just three points behind league leaders Atleti.

Sevilla have one of the league’s top scorers in Youssef En-Nesyir, as well as one of the league’s biggest breakout stars in goalkeeper Bono, who has been just as good as Thibaut Courtois and Jan Oblak statistically.

Real Madrid barely beat Sevilla earlier this season at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan. It was an important win that set in motion a vital winning streak ahead of a must-win Champions League clash vs. Borussia Monchengladbach, but it was not necessarily a convincing performance.

It was an ugly 1-0 win with a fluke goal created by Vinicius Junior, and some Madridistas were even upset by how the team won, considering they played a blatant low block to hold onto the win. But Zinedine Zidane did the right thing. Because, imagine what the table would look like if Real drew or even lost!

Sevilla could take points off Real. They really, really could. But let’s be optimistic.

Prediction: Real Madrid 2, Sevilla 1
