Either Eden Hazard or Marco Asensio needs to be an attacking threat

Real Madrid have had serious issues with getting production from their wingers this season. That’s such an obvious statement that fans are probably rolling their eyes at any mention of it by now, but they know how true it is. Los Blancos have talent on the wings, but they just aren’t contributing goals frequently enough.

Eden Hazard recently became a target for criticism after the second leg against Chelsea, but he is their most talented winger. Madridistas are hoping he responds well this weekend against Sevilla with the league title on the line. And of the available wingers, he is the one with the quality and the matchup to make some noise.

Marco Asensio scored four straight goals at one point this year, but he’s been quite poor in recent weeks. There are too many matches where he makes zero impact, and that just cannot slide at a club like Real Madrid.

Even so, Zinedine Zidane continues to count on him for two reasons. Firstly, he knows Asensio has quality. And secondly, he knows Asensio’s rocket left boot makes him the best option on the right-hand side.

Sevilla are a great defensive team that can make life difficult for superstar striker Karim Benzema. Hazard and Asensio need to have big games. Well, at least one of them does.
