Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic joined the club in 2019 with plenty of expectations. He had just completed a sensational breakout season in the Bundesliga with Eintracht Frankfurt, scoring 27 times in all competitions. Los Blancos paid 60 million euros to sign Jovic, who then went on to barely play for a season-and-a-half before being loaned back to Eintracht this winter.

Perhaps Jovic still has a future in Madrid, but all indications are that he will be sold this summer if a suitable offer comes in. Let’s take a look at four possible landing spots for the Serbian international in 2021.

Eintracht Frankfurt

Let’s discuss the most obvious option, which is a permanent move to Germany’s financial capital. Luka Jovic was excellent for the Eagles in 2018-2019, and he’s been pretty good for them this season, too. That said, Jovic hasn’t played much, because Eintracht have the Bundesliga’s third-most prolific striker in Andre Silva. So opportunities for Jovic have been few and far between.

But the Eagles still rate Jovic. There is some uncertainty regarding if they could afford a permanent move, but if Silva gets a big transfer, then Jovic can easily fill that spot. There isn’t a better option from their perspective. Perhaps a new manager could change things – Adi Hutter will join Borussia Monchengladbach next season – but I think most managers would love to have a player with Jovic’s raw tools up top.
