Real Madrid came into La Liga’s Matchday 35 without any of their best starters in a back four. Dani Carvajal is done for the season. Sergio Ramos very likely is, too. Raphael Varane won’t return until at least next weekend at Athletic Club. And Ferland Mendy was ruled out of Sunday’s action due to a muscular overload.

Los Blancos ended up drawing the match 2-2 after allowing a goal on a set piece and a penalty. And now, they may have another injury on their hands, which would leave them without any healthy right backs due to Carvajal’s and Lucas Vazquez’ season-ending injuries.

According to a report from MARCA, the club’s only remaining right back Alvaro Odriozola, who started on Sunday night, left the match with “discomfort” in his right thigh.

He will be evaluated on Monday morning to see if he has an injury and if he will need to miss further time.

Alvaro Odriozola is Real Madrid’s only remaining right back

If Odriozola is injured, Los Blancos will be down to Nacho Fernandez, Eder Militao, and Fede Valverde as possible right back options.

Since Militao and Nacho are needed at center back with Ramos and Varane injured, Zinedine Zidane may have no choice but to start the Uruguayan center midfielder at right back. Good thing Valverde held up well in the Champions League at Anfield against Sadio Mane.

Hopefully, Odriozola is OK and will be able to play on Matchday 36. Real Madrid already suffered a blow in the title race this weekend by dropping points against Sevilla, so they are walking a very fine line, if there is any hope for them to overtake Atletico Madrid at all.

Granada are tough opponents, as they showed the world recently with their 2-1 win over Barcelona. After that, Athletic Club are formidable foes at San Mames, and Villarreal are not an easy team to face either.
