Real Madrid are coming off two disappointing results. Last Wednesday night, they were knocked out of the Champions League semifinals by Chelsea in what can only be described as a dreadful performance.

Then, on Sunday night, they heartbreakingly drew Sevilla 2-2 after a hard-to-swallow penalty call against them. Despite their issues in the first half, Real nearly won the match in the end, scoring a late equalizer and then nearly adding another via Casemiro’s finessed effort from range.

There can be no time for moping about, though. La Liga is still on the line this Thursday night against Granada, who beat Barcelona a couple of weeks ago.

Here’s what to look forward to.

Karim Benzema being awesome

Karim Benzema did not get on the scoresheet against Sevilla, but he was truly outstanding throughout the 90 minutes. He recovered so many balls with his pressing that led to dangerous chances, and Real Madrid would have won if the other attackers were more game. But Marco Asensio’s opener was created by a turnover Benzema forced in midfield.

With 21 goals and 8 assists this season, the legendary No. 9 is having another epic season for Los Merengues. He is carrying the attack, and while Real need to give him some help this summer, it is truly a sight to behold when Benzema drops deep and takes players on. Benz is truly doing it all, and we are ready to witness another magical performance from the fleet-footed Frenchman this Thursday night at Los Carmenes.
