AM Isco

Isco was once rated highly by Zinedine Zidane, and Madridistas held the belief that Zizou valued the Andalusian above other managers. But the one-time standout for Real Madrid has been relegated to a bench role, and it wouldn’t be surprising if this has affected his motivation.

Although Isco has his flaws when it comes to his playing style, he has been working hard for the team on the pitch. We’ve even seen him put in shifts defensively as a flat midfielder in a 4-3-3, though, of course, this is not his best fit.

It’s been a rough season for Isco, and there are a lot of questions about his future at Real Madrid. He could be headed for a summer transfer if Los Blancos get the right offer, though there isn’t much over the past season for potential suitors to be impressed with.

So Isco’s best outcome might be Zidane stepping down and a new manager coming in who will work with Isco in an attacking role. We know that with Isco’s dribbling skills, vision, line-breaking movement, passes into the penalty area, and curled efforts from the left-hand side, he can still offer Real Madrid some form of star power in the free role.

But maybe he’s just past it. Isco has a huge point to prove, and he’ll ideally want to prove that to a new pair of eyes in the Spanish capital.
