Real Madrid traveled to Granada and earned a comfortable 4-1 win in the quest to defend their La Liga title. Luka Modric and Rodrygo Goes put Los Blancos two goals up in the first half. Jorge Molina scored one back for Granada, but Alvaro Odriozola restored Real Madrid’s lead. Karim Benzema hammered the nails in the coffin after Rui Silva’s error to give Zinedine Zidane’s men the 4-1 win. Thibaut Courtois came up big with a couple of saves in the dying minutes of the game.

Here is how the Real Madrid players performed.

Thibaut Courtois – 8/10

Courtois is having one of his best seasons. He was massive in front of the post to deny Granada any easy goals late in the game. The Belgian made a fantastic save to deny Domingo Quines on the 84th minute and a one-on-one stop against Luis Suarez on the 93rd minute. Courtois ended the game with four saves.

Marvin Park – 7/10

It was an exciting performance by the Castilla winger. Marvin Park did well playing as a right-back and also made some great forward runs. He will be unhappy not to have scored after Fede Valverde sent him on goal with a lovely through ball.

Eder Militao – 7/10

Militao did not have the level of performance we have been used to in the last two months. He made a couple of poor decisions and sloppy tackles during the game. However, he still managed to make a few vital interventions and looked dominant overall.

Nacho Fernandez – 7.5/10

Nacho redeemed himself against Granada after underwhelming performances in the last few games. He was better on the ball and even created a shot-scoring opportunity for his teammate. He also contributed with six clearances and won two aerial duels.

Miguel Gutierrez – 8/10

Miguel Gutierrez looks like he has a bright future ahead in Real Madrid. He was dynamic in attack and positionally reliable in defense. His brilliant ball to Luka Modric broke the deadlock. He also provided an excellent cross to Marco Asensio, but the Spaniard failed to take his chance.

Casemiro – 6.5/10

It was a slow day at the office for Casemiro. His passing was sloppy and even more so with long balls. He managed to win 6/13 duels, per Sofascore.com.

Luka Modric – 9/10

Modric had a magnificent game. He dominated the midfield and ran circles around Granada. His movement and phenomenal finish to meet Gutierrez’s pass set the tone for Real Madrid. He had 122 touches, no one in the match had more, and he created three chances for his teammates, per Whoscored.com.

Fede Valverde – 8/10

Valverde had a strong 60 minutes. His energy in the midfield and his ball-carrying ability helped Real Madrid push forward and create danger. He had four key passes in the game. He also won three tackles and one interception.

Rodrygo – 7.5/10

Rodrygo had somewhat of a quiet game. However, he did have some exciting moments. His fantastic ball from the top of the box to Karim Benzema almost led to Real Madrid’s first goal. The Brazillian finally found himself in some space inside the box and scored Los Blancos’ second with a fantastic finish.

Vinicius Junior – 6/10

Vinicius made several fun runs and found himself in dangerous positions in the attacking half. However, his decision-making in the final third failed him on the night.

Karim Benzema – 7.5/10

Benzema took advantage of a major blunder by Rui Silva to score Real Madrid’s fourth. The Frenchman also had two key passes in the match.

Substitutions

Alvaro Odriozola – 7.5/10

Odriozola replaced Park at halftime and did a commendable job. He was caught out of position a couple of times, but his passing was excellent, and he bagged himself a goal that restored Real Madrid’s two-goal lead.

Isco – 6.5/10

Isco’s first couple of touches were sloppy. He grew into the game better and helped Real Madrid control the game.

Eden Hazard – 6/10

Eden Hazard failed to control Modric’s pass but recovered well to provide a cutback for Odriozola’s goal.
