If these grades were solely based on peak performance and not on taking the full context of the 2020-2021 season into account, then Eder Militao would have a near-perfect rating. Because he was near-perfect in the final two months of the season and was right there with Karim Benzema and Thibaut Courtois as the best player on the entire team!

Militao was unplayable during the title race and was a star in the final Champions League matches, even in the games in which Real Madrid did not play well. Once an afterthought and not trusted by Madridistas nor, seemingly, Zinedine Zidane himself, Militao seized his opportunity in the first leg against Liverpool and has been world-class ever since.

A shoe-in to start in the 2021-2022 season, Militao willed his team defensively in some matches this season, including the clean sheet 0-0 draw against Getafe. And how about his immense offensive contributions in a tough 2-0 win against Osasuna that was also heavy on necessary first-team rotations around Champions League fixtures?

Militao has all the tools to be a special player at Real Madrid. He can make defensive plays that nobody else on this planet can – not even Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos. A perfect fit for the club, Militao has earned the trust, respect, and fullest admiration of Real Madrid supporters.
