This summer transfer market of 2021 will see Real Madrid participate actively to rebuild their squad. One of the most important areas that Real will look into reinforcing will be the frontline that has been overly reliant on Karim Benzema.

Apart from Rodrygo, it is fair to say that the likes of Eden Hazard, Marco Asensio, and Vinicius Jr have been underwhelming this season with their inconsistent run of form. Karim Benzema at the age of 33, continues to fire all cylinders but Real Madrid requires a backup next season to rest the Frenchman for important games.

The lack of a thorough backup striker this season has seen Karim Benzema being overworked which has lead to extreme fatigue and exhaustion. This was evident in both the legs against Chelsea in the Champions League, as Benzema and several other veterans looked exhausted with heavy feet.

In terms of backup strikers, Real Madrid currently have the likes of Borja Mayoral, Luka Jovic, and Mariano Diaz who are possible secondary strikers to have next season. However, due to the financial duress the club faces, the aforementioned players could be part of the mass summer exodus that Madrid plan on to raise funds.

I have shortlisted three alternative strikers that Real Madrid should target next season. The criteria were to be a young, affordable, and low profile striker who would be ready to accept a sporadic role at Real where he would rotate occasionally with Karim Benzema.
