SASA KALAJDZIC

You thought it would be Andrea Silva, didn’t you? Well, those rumours that have been circulating should not have your attention as Real Madrid certainly won’t make an attempt for the Portuguese after he failed to perform at Sevilla.

Well, let’s get back to Sasa Kalajdzic. He’s 23, he’s a Serbian, left-footed, tall, and an absolute danger inside the box. What is it with Serbian strikers being so good? There’s Jovic, Vlahovic and now Kalajdzic. And, all three of them are double footed!

Sasa Kalajdziz burst onto the scene this season with VfB Stuttgart this season. The 23-year-old has scored 16 goals and has provided six assists for Stuttgart in the Bundesliga in 33 appearances, averaging a goal every 134 minutes. If you recall, Luka Jovic had scored 17 goals in the Bundesliga, a goal more than Sasa before Real Madrid swooped him up in 2019.

Kalajdziz could just be the perfect backup for Karim Benzema. He’s a lethal striker and is also a creative playmaker with his skill. His height gives him an advantage in the box as he wins almost every aerial duel and is a fine header of the ball.

At the age of 23, he is valued at just 17 million euros on the transfer market and is on contract with Stuttgart until 2023. Real Madrid can definitely join the list of suitors for the Serbian and could potentially land the promising talent if they manage to offload either Jovic, Mayoral or Mariano.

However, there is a chance of Sasa turning out to be a one-season wonder and given how impatient Real Madrid fans are, the chances of him underperforming are more likely. However, if he does flop, it certainly won’t sting much since Real could buy him for a trifling sum.
