SERGIO RAMOS

Sergio Ramos is currently having the worst season of his life in terms of individual performances. The 35-year-old has struggled with injuries this season that has limited his game time with Los Blancos which has eventually led to him being dropped out by Luis Enrique from the Spanish national team. This decision has not gone down well with Ramos who even took to Instagram to explain his mental state.

Now with Zizou officially having left the club, I expect Ramos to be pretty disheartened at the moment given his close relationship with the boss. The captain is on the same boat with Lucas Vazquez as his contract also runs out at the end of June.

The 35-year-old is how yet inked fresh terms with Real Madrid as he demands a two-year contract along with an increase in his salary. Florentino Perez is not willing to accept this condition as it goes against a long-standing policy of renewing contracts with players aged 30 and over.

The Spaniard is still part of the club’s plans but Florentino Perez can be ruthless at times such as with Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure in 2018.

Verdict- Either Ramos accepts the one-year renewal with a cut in his wages or he leaves as a free agent.
