6- Eden Hazard’s left-footed rocket against Huesca

Eden Hazard had a horrible season in 2020/21, as he struggled with fitness in a season where he was supposed to be judged by his critics. His recurring muscle issues hampered his game a lot, which made it difficult for him to perform immediately after returning from injuries. But he still had that class, and he produced a moment of magic against Huesca to remind the world of his name.

It was his first start for Real Madrid after 3 months, a game in which the Merengues found it difficult to break through Huesca’s low block. But Hazard helped Real Madrid open the scoring with a moment of individual brilliance, with a screamer in the 40th minute. He received a vertical pass from Fede Valverde 30 yards away with his back facing the goal. But then he produced a quick turn and shot the ball using his weaker left foot, putting a lot of power behind it. And the ball ended up in the back of the net, as Real Madrid got the lead and went on to dominate the remainder of the game, winning it 4-1.

Sometimes I feel disappointed as a fan while looking at the video of his goal because it makes me wonder how his Real Madrid career could’ve gone if Hazard maintained his fitness and was more focused.
