4. Toni Kroos
Toni Kroos missed out on a bit of season-ending action after he, like so many others in the game was struck by COVID. However, his absence from a few crucial games doesn’t go to negate the improbable amount of good work he did for the White outfit this season. Who would forget that absolute masterclass against Liverpool at home?
The midfield-general was arguably one of the best midfielders in the league this season bagging 15 goal involvements that included 12 assists, 10 of which came in the league. Kroos missed out on being the player with the most assists in the league, thanks to the pandemic. He however registered the most by any Real Madrid player.
His contributions remained key in a lot of important fixtures this season. As already talked about, his performance against Liverpool in the Champions League was unparalleled. Los Blancos enjoyed themselves out there and this man was a major reason. His deflected free-kick in El Clasico was the difference in a crucial game, one that is held closer to heart than any by the fans.
The German’s game this season was primarily about the passing. He maintained absolute crazy figures in terms of passing accuracy, above 90 in every single competition he played in, per WhoScored. He was beating the opposition press with his passing and creating chances too. It promises to be a repetition of the same in the upcoming Euro 2020.
