1. Karim Benzema

There is no doubt whatsoever about the player who sits atop this list. It is the undisputed striker King of Madrid, Karim Benzema. King Karim roared the loudest in the White shirt. It is the most difficult job to score goals in a football match and the Frenchman did it 30 times this season.

The best part about his play; it wasn’t only about the goals. King Karim did it all, he led the Whites as the captain numerous times out this season. He played deep and linked play. He made smart exchanges and brought everyone on the pitch into the game as much as possible.

Much like Lukita, he too fought until the very last final whistle of the season. He scored the equalizing goal in the last game and assisted Modric for the winner within injury time. But to our amusement, the Frenchman did it throughout the season, finding the all-important finish or being that spark of creativity to open up the opposition defense.

He made 45 appearances in all competitions, maintaining a passing accuracy of over 85% while bagging the MOTM ten times this season, per WhoScored. King Karim found the net 23 times in the league, second to only Lionel Messi who won the Pichichi race with 30. He also was the second-highest assister for Real Madrid with nine assists to his name, one behind Toni Kroos.

It wouldn’t be wrong to say that he carried forward the team’s finishing single-handedly with his attacker’s instincts and clever use of space. He ends the season with a much-deserved call back to the French national side for the Euros this summer, where we expect to see a similar form continued.
