INEPT WINGERS

I’ve said this time and time again but apart from Rodrygo, Real Madrid lack quality on the wings. The likes of Eden Hazard, Vinicius Jr, and Marco Asensio have been sub-par for the majority of the season as the trio only occasionally performs and is quite inconsistent.

On top of that, none of the wingers are goal-scorers, which ultimately means that Karim Benzema is tasked with finding the back of the net. This has been the case at the club for the past three seasons. Gareth Bale is one of the winger’s who can help in the goal-scoring area but it is unlikely that the Welshman has a future at the club following his breakdown with Zinedine Zidane and the club in 2019 before being loaned out to Tottenham Hotspur.

Now if a manager was to take over, his only goal-scorers would be Karim Benzema, Casemiro, and Sergio Ramos. This itself proves that there is a serious mistake with the recruitment policy that Real Madrid has followed over the years.

The Bernabeu was once home to Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale, two of the world’s best wingers and now the club has a young Vinicius Jr who still is yet to find his shooting boots, an oft-injured Eden Hazard, and an out of form Marco Asensio.
