Real Madrid: Could Kosovare Asllani be headed to Juventus in player swap?
Real Madrid‘s men’s team is experiencing a summer of change, as Zinedine Zidane has already stepped down. But Real Madrid Femenino could also be in store for a bit of a shake-up, as their highest-profile player, Kosovare Asllani, is the subject of a pretty concrete transfer rumor.
According to a report from Giovanni Albanese of La Gazzetta dello Sport – one of the most reliable reporters covering Juventus – Asllani is a summer transfer target for the Bianconere.
Earlier this season, we heard rumors surrounding Asllani’s future, but they didn’t seem reliable so we did not pass them along. But now, it looks like Asllani could be headed to Italy’s top team after they completed another successful Serie A season.
If you think Real Madrid’s men’s team is dealing with uncertainty, you should see Juventus Women. They are ready for a whole new look, as legendary manager Rita Guarino officially stepped down from the squad. Meanwhile, star goalkeeper Laura Giuliani has left Juve and is expected to join rivals Milan. Aurora Galli and Barbara Bonansea could also leave the club.
Kosovare Asllani for Barbara Bonansea would be a deal that seems to favor Juventus more than Real Madrid
Bonansea is an interesting name for Madridistas, because she has been linked with a move to Las Blancas in a swap deal with the Bianconere involving Asllani.
Although Asllani is probably the better player, Bonansea is not far off. She’s a versatile forward who can score goals. Real Madrid have some other great forwards in Sofia Jakobsson, breakout star Marta Cardona, the underutilized Chioma Ubogagu, and striker Jessica Martinez. But Bonansea would not be a bad addition to Real.
Still, Madridistas might not like a straight-up swap, seeing as how Asllani has been an important goal-scorer this season and is seen as the better talent. Bonansea may be underrated, and there may be something more at play that would make Las Blancas go for this deal.
I have my reservations, but we’ll see. Bonansea scored eight goals with eight assists this past season in under 1,400 minutes, so she can bring quality.
As for Asllani, she has a team-high 15 goals in about 1,900 minutes. And her season is not over just yet. It’s not easy to fill that kind of scoring production and all-around energy. Bonansea can fill some of it, but if she cannot be acquired in a swap and Asllani is sold, Real Madrid could be headed for more transfer intrigue.
