Real Madrid Transfers: 3 reasons why Isco should be sold
Real Madrid need all the money they can get
Honestly, this is the most important reason for making a deal, and it is centered directly on Real Madrid’s needs as a club. Isco isn’t one of the most egregiously expensive players on the team (that honor belongs to loanee Gareth Bale), but he is not cheap from a wage perspective either. Any wage relief is beneficial, so that is one financial aspect to consider here.
But more importantly, Isco can actually fetch a decent fee on the transfer market. No, Real Madrid aren’t going to get 50 million euros or whatever outrageous fee is rumored by some of the very unreliable transfer rumor sites out there. But Isco brings name recognition and was quite good at times in the 2019-2020 season. At the very least, he can make Real Madrid 10 million euros and hopefully double that amount.
Every little bit helps. Real Madrid are in the midst of a “Revolution”, and now is the perfect time to say “out with the old, in with the new”. A new manager is coming to replace Zinedine Zidane, so Real can be ruthless and cut out nostalgia with their decisions.
There is nostalgia for Isco, who is a beautiful footballer and had some great moments in LaLiga for both Real Madrid and Malaga. Madridistas know him well. But the money is suddenly important to Los Blancos. They need to make tough decisions this summer. As I said in the first point, it’s not like Isco’s career would be hurt negatively by a sale.
