Real Madrid Transfers: The terms and conditions of Brahim’s next potential loan move
Real Madrid have seven players returning from loan over the summers as the likes of Brahim Diaz, Dani Ceballos, Gareth Bale, Martin Odegaard, Takefusa Kubo, Luka Jovic, and Jesus Vallejo have their loan contracts expiring on the 30th of June.
The possible lack of transfer activity this summer might mean that some of these players could be included in the squad’s plans for next season before some of their futures get sorted out. One of the most promising players while on loan has been Brahim Diaz this season.
The 21-year-old has turned out to become an important member of AC Milan after scoring seven goals and providing four assists in all competitions.
The Spaniard’s loan deal expires on the 30th of June with AC Milan, however, Stefano Pioli has demanded the club to extend Brahim Diaz’s stay at the San Siro for another season.
What are the terms for Brahim’s renewal proposal from AC Milan and should Real Madrid accept it?
According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, AC Milan’s Paolo Maldini is set to discuss a deal with Florentino Perez over the extension of Brahim Diaz’s stay. The Rossoneri want a single-season extension until the summer of 2022 and want to include an option to purchase for 25 million euros.
Real Madrid paid 17 million euros in 2018 to sign Brahim Diaz from Manchester City. The former Sky Blue forward did not receive much continuity at the Spanish capital before loaned out to AC Milan last year.
His performances with Milan this season prove that he can be a future asset for Real Madrid and including a purchase option of 25 million euros would be a mindless deal. Instead, Los Blancos should consider offering a two-year extension until 2023 to further develop his talent and potential.
By 2023, Brahim Diaz would be 24 and would have two more years left on his contract with Real. At the age of 24, the Spaniard could prove to be a backup option to whoever is the first choice winger at the club.
However, the idea of agreeing to AC Milan’s proposition should not even be considered. A two-year extension is a far better option for all three parties involved- Brahim continues to receive game time, AC Milan get their main-man for another two seasons and Real Madrid can wait until 2023 to receive a mature and first-team ready, Brahim Diaz.
