3 reasons why Real Madrid will have to sell Raphael Varane
REAL MADRID ARE ALREADY PLANNING A FUTURE WITHOUT VARANE
It seems like Real Madrid are already planning a future without Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos if they leave this summer. Los Blancos completed the signing of David Alaba as a free agent recently and the versatile defender is set to be a starter in the XI. He could fill either filling Ramos’ place or Varane’s at center back. The Austrian will also be earning 12 million euros a year which is more than the salary that Varane receives. Real Madrid will look to balance their books as mentioned before and to accommodate Alaba’s wag
es the club might have to get rid of Varane or Ramos or both for further signings.
On the flipside, the rebirth of Eder Militao last season has also been another turning point. The Brazilian has been rock-solid with Nacho as the centre-back pairing and the two together performed admirably in the absence of Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane. Nacho has also reportedly renewed his contract with Real Madrid until 2024, as per ABC Deportes.
Meanwhile, Los Blancos are also eyeing a move for Jules Kounde of Sevilla to further solidify the defence. Having said that, it seems like Real Madrid have planned out on how to continue without Varane and Ramos. It will be a take it or leave it offer for both the defenders to renew terms. If the former rejects the proposed deal then he’ll be sold and the latter will be set free with his contract expiring at the end of this month.
