JULES KOUNDE OR PAU TORRES

Real Madrid have a face serious issue with their two first-choice center-backs. Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos could both be heading towards the exit door this summer. The former wants a better contract and a new challenge while the latter is yet to ink fresh terms with his current deal expiring on the 30th of June.

If both are to leave in the same window, the Merengues will have David Alaba, Eder Militao, and Nacho Fernandez as their first-team center-backs. Jesus Vallejo is also an option who has returned from Granada while on loan, however, the Spaniard is not up to the mark to be a starter and can be sent on another loan or be sold permanently.

The club will look to add more depth to the defence and could sign either Sevilla’s Jules Kounde or Villarreal’s Pau Torres.

Both the youngsters are fantastic defenders with immense potential. Kounde has been one of the best defenders in LaLiga over the past two seasons, as Los Blancos can attest. Meanwhile, Torres is also a composed center-back with an incredible left foot that never misplaces a pass. The two offer different options and are great signings for the club to replace Ramos or Varane.
