Real Madrid have hired Carlo Ancelotti as their next manager, and the experienced hand’s return to the dugout means that Los Blancos are likely looking at a season of trying to maximize what they have in the squad. There will be transfer pursuits – namely Operation Mbappe – but we could be looking at a less eventful summer window than what Madridistas want.

Yet Ancelotti’s task remains the same. Get more out of a struggling attack that was an utter embarrassment for much of the 2020-2021 season. The woes up front cost Real LaLiga and were culpable in their Champions League semifinal exit and early Copa del Rey elimination.

Here are four ways Don Carlo can resuscitate Real Madrid’s offense next season.

Bring the beauty back to Real Madrid

Not only were Real Madrid ineffective in front of goal last season, but they were stagnant and downright horrendous to watch for much of the campaign. So many fans flat-out tuned out to the league fixtures, because watching Real’s ineptitude against organized defenses and low-blocks was a stomach-turning affair.

Carlo Ancelotti is one of those managers who makes football easy on the eye, and he is able to maneuver through multiple tactical setups. He is adept at finding the optimal antidote to any defense, just as he is able to get the most out of the individual attacking players he has at his disposal. And that may end up being the most crucial offensive improvement to Los Blancos.
