There’s been a lot of talk about a mass summer exodus at Real Madrid– primarily to fund the transfer of Kylian Mbappe. MARCA even came up with this huge list not so long ago, consisting of almost 10 players that could be sold.

Well, there is some truth in these rumours that have been circulating about possible exits this summer. Los Blancos will look to clear off the deadwood and reduce their inflated wage bill from every possible angle to fund other transfer operations.

Let’s have a realistic look at some of the players that could be offloaded this summer and at what price. First up on the list are the defenders, followed by midfielders and then forwards to conclude the list.

RAPHAEL VARANE

Raphael Varane’s departure is a real possibility this summer transfer window. The French defender is on the back of an expiring contract and has shown no interest in inking fresh terms. Varane’s contract will run out in 2022, which means that Real Madrid could be forced into selling him this summer rather than letting him walk out on a free transfer next year.

So how much could Real Madrid sell Raphael Varane in the transfer market this season? Well, he’s entered the prime years of his career and has already established himself as one of the best defenders in the world. With his contract running out next summer, there’s not enough room to negotiate with. Having said that, an asking price around the ballpark of 60 million euros could be a realistic transfer sum.

Verdict- can be sold for 60 million euros

JESUS VALLEJO

Then there’s Jesus Vallejo. The 24-year-old has not just had it easy since leaving Real Madrid on loan to Wolverhampton Wanderers. His loan spell in the Premier League was a disaster, to say the least, and his loan with Granada has been nothing short of disappointing either. Vallejo is on contract with Los Blancos until 2022 and could be sold this summer in the process of the cleanup.

Given his two underwhelming loan spells at Wolves and Granada, it is unlikely that a big offer would come his way. At best, Real Madrid could sell him for 5 million euros.
