Carlo Ancelotti has been appointed as the new manager for Real Madrid as Zinedine Zidane decided to step down. Zidane had plans for every player’s future, but with Ancelotti, it will change for sure. It is because Ancelotti loves to have an attacking midfielder in the line-up.

This means that we are going to see more of Odegaard and Isco than in the previous seasons. Zidane was planning to sell players like Jovic, Bale, Varane, Marcelo, etc. to accumulate funds for Mbappe’s transfer. I believe that some of these players will be sold for sure, but Ancelotti might give another chance to some of them. The transfer window is open and we are going to see some players leaving for sure.

Marcelo:

We all somehow admit that Marcelo’s future at Real Madrid has come to an end. With Mendy’s addition to the squad, Marcelo went down the pecking order under Zinedine Zidane. And, wasn’t Zidane right in doing so?

Marcelo was aging and his speed had declined. He was no longer that fast and Real became prone from the left. Mendy was seen as a rightful heir because of his pace, physicality, and stamina to move up and down the left flank.

When Mendy got injured, Marcelo was given the chance to step up, but he got injured too. Due to a lack of LBs, Zidane decided to bring in Miguel, who was a Castilla player. Right from the first match, we saw some first-team sparks from Miguel and we can call him a Mendy back-up as of now.

Not only this, Zidane started using Marcelo as a left-winger to attack in matches when an extra push was needed. In addition to this, Real Madrid needs funds to make Mbappe’s transfer a possibility. Marcelo is the kind of player that can fetch about 10 million Euros and with the wages, he is on, selling him would save Real around 4.3 million Euros. So, it would be fair to say that Marcelo might have to leave Real Madrid this year.
