Carlo Ancelotti will soon draw up a list of transfer targets with Florentino Perez for the summer. The Italian was recently appointed as the manager of Real Madrid and stated that he took the job because the club is special to him.

Ancelotti will be earning half the salary he did at Everton and did not even discuss squad or transfer plans before taking up the job, as he stated so in his press conference.

While Los Blancos are currently linked with a few popular names including Kylian Mbappe and Eduardo Camavinga. Let’s have a look at a few former players that Real Madrid can reconsider calling back or resigning.

The Santiago Bernabeu has welcomed former players in the past, a few notable examples would be Dani Carvajal’s return from Bayer Leverkusen, Alvaro Morata’s return from Juventus and Mariano Diaz’s return from Lyon. Let’s now have a look at three former players who could be potential transfer targets for the 2021-22 season.

JORGE DE FRUTOS

Jorge de Frutos was sold to Levante in the summer of 2020 after he failed to break into the first team. The 24-year-old signed for Real Madrid in 2018 but was part of the B team for a season before being loaned out to Real Valladolid and Rayo Vallecano before being sold permanently last summer to Levante.

His debut season with Levante has been excellent, scoring four goals and providing 12 assists in all competitions for Paco Lopez’s side. His performances have seen him being linked with a return to the Spanish capital.

Florentino Perez had even contacted the president of Levante on possibly re-signing the 24-year-old. Jorge de Frutos would be a fantastic option to have on the bench and he could compete with the likes of Marco Asensio and Rodrygo Goes for a place in the starting eleven.
