Real Madrid are considered to be one of the big sharks in the transfer market if not the biggest. Los Blancos have signed the biggest of superstars and have pulled off some remarkable transfers over the years that have brought nothing but glory to the club.

Apart from their ability to sign lure in the best players, Los Blancos have generally done a good job when it comes to selling players for the right price when they are no longer part of their plans.

Some notable examples could Alvaro Morata’s stunning 66 million euro sale to Chelsea or even selling a 33-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus for 100 million euros.

However, in recent times, Real Madrid have made a few blunders in the transfer market especially when selling their players. I have come up with a list of players that have been sold for far too little in recent times. Let’s have a look at the three players.

ACHRAF HAKIMI

Achraf Hakimi came up the ranks from La Fabrica and earned a spot in the senior squad in the 2017-18 season as a backup to Dani Carvajal. Hakimi showed a lot of brilliance in his first season and it was certain that the Moroccan would develop into one of the best players in his position.

The following season, Hakimi was sent out on loan to Borussia Dortmund on a two-year contract to develop his talent. At Dortmund, the right-back hit the ground running and developed tremendously in just two seasons.

When Zinedine Zidane came back, it was expected that Hakimi would be part of his plans for the 2020-21 season. However, the 22-year-old was sold to Inter Milan for just 40 million euros. A sheer bargain for a player of his calibre and quality.

Irrespective of who was responsible for Achraf Hakimi’s departure, the transfer fee was far too low. The right-back was considered to be one of the most exciting prospects in the world then and letting him go for just 45 million was foolish.

Chelse and Paris Saint-Germain are keen on signing the Moroccan this summer and Inter Milan value him at 80 million euros, according to Sky Sports. Real Madrid should have sold the right-back for at least 60 million euros last summer since his current price has almost doubled in just one season.
