Real Madrid’s summer plans are seemingly hijacked by their pursuit of the PSG forward, Kylian Mbappe. The 22-year-old has taken the football community by surprise with his premium finishing skills. In a quick time, the Frenchman has established himself as the best young player of the generation and a prime transfer target for top European clubs.

As I argued earlier, he would be the most worthy transfer target to monitor during the ongoing European Championship. Madridistas want to see the wonder-kid in the Royal White kit, but it wouldn’t be a surprise that he comes at a hefty price tag, and there indeed are things that could prevent him from moving to the Spanish Capital in the summer. Here are the three pressing things that cannot be discounted.

1. Real Madrid’s financial situation

As simple as the heading sounds, the top-most thing that could prevent a dream Mbappe transfer is the money. The club has been struggling without a daily inflow of match-day revenues and piling debt that the President, Florentino Perez needs to take care of.

The environment has seemingly been fit for the Frenchman to move to the Spanish Capital and play for the Royal club but, the finances dictate at the highest. A lot of tell-tale signs are indications of the club’s financial situation that includes Carlo Ancelotti, the newly appointed manager’s salary.

In the end, Real may pull off their pursuit of Kylian Mbappe because of his price tag which could be in the 180-200 million euros ballpark. He otherwise is valued at 160 million euros by Transfermarkt.

Real Madrid’s wage bills are already high. Adding on, MARCA reports that Marcelo stays at the club for the next season, he is a highly paid player. Loanees like Martin Odegaard and Gareth Bale are also set to return, adding to the wage bills. Therefore, finances could be a big preventing factor toward realizing a dream transfer.
