Erling Haaland is the most sought-after striker in the transfer window currently, and Real Madrid are among those interested. The 20-year-old is on the back of another humungous goal-scoring season, with 41 goals and 12 assists to his name in 41 fixtures across all competitions for Borussia Dortmund. His performances this season are a testament that he is simply not a season wonder.

With such a glamorous attacking profile, it is obvious that Haaland has drawn the attention of the top European powerhouses, including Real Madrid. His contract with Dortmund lasts until 2024, however, in the summer of 2022, his 75 million euro release clause will be activated. However, most teams aren’t willing to wait until 2022 and Dortmund could cash in on him for almost double the transfer fee this summer than next year.

With that being said, let’s have a look at some of the destinations that Erling Haaland could be heading towards before the start of the 2021-22 season.

MANCHESTER CITY

The most obvious choice for starters. Manchester City are currently one of the most financially powerful clubs in the transfer market alongside Paris Saint-Germain. The Sky Blues can easily out-match any offer made by any other club for Erling Haaland which make them the clear favourites if they are to sign him.

As of now, Pep Guardiola has his sights set on Tottenham Hotspur’s wantaway striker, Harry Kane. The 27-year-old is the club’s priority for the summer, however, for some reasons if they fail to sign the Englishman. Man City could turn their attention back on to Erling Haaland.

While Haaland and Kane share polar opposite playing styles, signing either of the two would benefit Manchester City due to their surreal goal-scoring abilities. With Sergio Aguero’s free transfer to Barcelona, there’s a big room to fill at Etihad Stadium and it could be either Erling Haaland or Harry Kane that take up the responsibility next season.
