David Carmo (SC Braga)

Next up on the list is David Carmo, the 21-year-old centre-back playing for SC Braga. He is someone who has been linked to the club in recent months and can be a realistic replacement for Sergio Ramos.

Carmo is a relatively unknown player compared to the other names on this list, with the Portuguese player not playing for a Champions League side in the Liga NOS. But trust me, he is a solid defender and can be seen as a complete defender with an impressive defensive skill-set. He is a physically imposing player, with a strong physique and a 196 cm height giving him the advantage in aerial duels, while also being good with the ball at his feet.

Given the way he was performing in the first part of the season, he should have definitely made it to the Portuguese national team for the Euros. But unfortunately, he suffered an ankle fracture in the month of February due to which he has been out of action to date.

But given the way he was playing before the injury, he became a transfer target for some of the top clubs, including Real Madrid. AS reported in the month of February that Real Madrid is eyeing the Portuguese player as a possible replacement for Ramos. His market value was said to be 25 million euros at that point in time.

But now his market value is pretty much under 10 million euros, and the competition for him has decreased due to him being on the sidelines for the past four months. If Real Madrid looks to sign him now, it will be a low-cost and low-risk investment. it might actually be a risk worth taking. and it has been some time since real Madrid made a smart investment, this could actually be one.
