A BRILLIANT SHORT-TERM OPTION

If Real Madrid don’t sign Erling Haaland or Kylian Mbappe this summer, Cristiano Ronaldo may be the perfect short-term solution. He may most likely be on his way out of Juventus in the ongoing transfer market and is valued at just 30 million euros– which is a perhaps reasonable fee for a player of his calibre.  Ronaldo can bring a number of goals to the table- something that Real Madrid are in dire need of in the upcoming seasons.

A LEADER IN THE DRESSING ROOM

Having spent nine years at Real Madrid, Ronaldo knows the club perfectly in and out. He knows the lofty demands, the impetus from the fans to win every match and most importantly, play for the team than for an individual on the pitch. With Sergio Ramos having departed, he could also bring fabulous leadership to the team. Marcelo, who is now the captain, is not the best of leaders but Ronaldo has proven his credentials over time.

A VERY MARKETABLE SIGNING

Ronaldo is arguably the world’s most marketable and profitable sportsman. Real Madrid lack such a figure in their current squad, barring perhaps Eden Hazard, whose reputation has anyways taken a hit due to fitness issues. With fans gradually returning to the stadium and the club needing to recover from a chaotic pandemic, bringing in Ronaldo would be a great choice, and even just by selling shirts, the club could see marked results.
