Real Madrid never forces their players to stay

Real Madrid has seen many legends come and go, and the club is famously known for their ability to sign world-class players easily. But at the same time, the club is also known for the way they never force their players to stay and allow their players to leave the club as per their willingness, even if they are one of the biggest figures at the club.

The club always respects the decision of their players to leave. That is something which we have seen in the case of one of the biggest legends in Cristiano Ronaldo, even though he was the most important player in the team at that point in time. The Portuguese asked to leave the club, and the club never stopped him from leaving, as they also facilitated a smooth departure, while the exact opposite happened at Barcelona in September 2020, when Leo Messi wanted to leave the club.

But sometimes the consequences leading to that departure aren’t great to see, and they portray the club in a bad light. Most of the time, those departures are due to a result of disagreements in contract renewal or wage incremental talks, as the club usually stands firm in their stance. They don’t agree easily with the demands of their players, something that has happened in the case of players like Sergio Ramos, Angel Di Maria, and try to send a message to the players that the power is always in the hands of the President and the board, and no one is bigger than the club.

At the end of everything, the departure does affect the club in one way or the other in the future, and the club’s firm stance in such cases can definitely be blamed. This is a reason why the players feel like they aren’t being valued much by the club.

More or less something similar is happening in the case of Varane The number 5 is currently earning around €5.5 million a year, and he wants to have an improvement in salary. It’s obvious that he would demand an improved salary when he’s about to enter his peak and a new player is earning €12 million, which is more than double of what Varane’s wages. But unfortunately, the club hasn’t been able to reach his demands, while Manchester United are ready to pay him highly, according to Defensa Central.

With no agreement reached yet, Varane would want to leave the club and even Real Madrid would want to sell him. They wouldn’t block his move. But the club is also open to the option of the Frenchman continuing at Madrid, if he accepts their conditions for a new contract. But that does look unlikely, and it might end in a divorce at the end, with the club looking to gain at least €50 million from his sale.
