LEONARDO SPINAZZOLA: A two-way full-back with a lot of talent

Leonardo Spinazzola has been the best performing left-back in the European Championship, alongside Luke Shaw. The Italian international is on the books of AS Roma and is undoubtedly going to play a key role under Jose Mourinho at the Stadio Olimpico. However, Real Madrid, who were recently linked with signing him, could find him to be a great addition to the squad.

The 26-year-old has age by his side and moreover, he is an incredible player on both ends of the pitch. Spinazzola’s crossing abilities are worth admiring and he can also pick out long passes really well. At the back, he is a very hard-working player and helps in recovering the ball with his great physical presence and tackling abilities.

David Alaba may be exclusively used as a central defender given that Marcelo and Ferland Mendy are in the squad for the upcoming season, but once the Brazilian’s contract ends, Madrid could try and sign Spinazzola after he spends another season with Roma. Signing him this summer makes no sense as he is recovering from a long-term injury that he suffered against Belgium.

He could also be an economical option if one keeps in mind that by next year, he would have run down another year on his contract with the Giallorossi.
