Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has requested a first signing since taking over the club for a second time after Zinedine Zidane’s resignation.

Although the Whites remain focused on the task at hand- which is to persuade Raphael Varane into staying put and signing Kylian Mbappe- there is some talk going between the manager and Florentino Perez about potentially signing a Manchester United youngster.

Los Blancos have been credited with interest in Diogo Dalot, according to Calciomercato’s Rudy Galetti.

Dalot spent the last season on loan with AC Milan and did a solid job, and was rewarded by Fernando Santos too, calling him up to the Portuguese national side as a replacement for Joao Cancelo- who tested positive for the coronavirus before the European Championship of 2020 kicked off.

Milan are once again pondering over extending his loan, but Real Madrid have stepped in.

Carlo Ancelotti’s efforts could do little grace in Real Madrid looking past him

Ancelotti has reportedly nudged Perez in the direction of approaching the full-back, who Real Madrid possibly could take on loan for the first year before having an obligation to buy him. The Rossoneri, who are also in contention to loan him in for a second time are stalling on an obligation to buy, which gives Madrid the edge in the race as Manchester United are looking to get rid of him.

Dalot’s arrival at Real Madrid seems extremely unlikely despite Ancelotti’s personal request to the board of directors. The 22-year-old is far from an ideal right-back for the La Liga giants to pursue, more so considering the options which they already have in the position. Dani Carvajal is an indispensable presence in the squad when fit, whereas Alvaro Odriozola also does a decent job when called upon.

Finally, Lucas Vazquez can play in the defensive position as well, as can the highly versatile Nacho. Only time will tell if Real Madrid will even make contact with Dalot or Manchester United- but logically, everything is against it.
