With the summer transfer talks gaining currency all over the European Footballing world, the clubs are taking last calls on the targets they’d like to pursue. Real Madrid has already taken its first steps towards making the summer of 2021 an eventful time. We have already witnessed the captain, Sergio Ramos leaving the club, and his partner in crime, Raphael Varane is close to signing a deal with Manchester United.

As such, Real Madrid’s plans for the summer are limited by their finances. The club is living on debt due to the stadium construction and lack of matchday revenues. Real Madrid’s hands may well be tied up when they move to the market. So, keeping tabs on possible ‘bargain’ transfer targets could be a wise move to make. Here is a ranked list of 5 such players that can be considered a ‘bargain.’

5. US Sassuolo RW Domenico Berardi

Sassuolo-man, Domenico Berardi has put the continental stage on fire with his glaring displays in the European Championships. There is no doubt that his performances at the Euros will be a major factor influencing his future. Nonetheless, he would have a European Championship final on his CV and possibly the title too. I have listed him earlier under the list of forwards who have impressed as transfer targets at the Euros.

At 26 years of age and nearing his prime, Berardi can be targeted as a logical transfer target. And, a ‘bargain’ at that. Transfermarkt values him at 35 million euros and recent links with Leicester City and Liverpool FC for a possible summer move reveals that US Sassuolo has set an asking price of 40 million euros and at that price, he’d be an absolute steal.

Earlier, this past season, he had a brilliant run with his club in the Seria A. He registered 24 goal contributions, seven out of which were assists and 17 goals, per WhoScored. This goes to show that he is an all-around forward and an ideal winger who balances between his play-making and goal-scoring duties. He would be my first pick for a bargain target to monitor.
