4. Rodrygo Goes

Ever since joining Real Madrid in 2019 from the Brazilian club Santos for a fee of €45m, Rodrygo has put on some great performances. Yet, he has been hardly recognized by fans. Irrespective of him being the youngest player in the history of the UEFA Champions League to score a perfect hat-trick as well as the second-fastest player to score as a debutant in the history of Real Madrid, behind only No. 9 Ronaldo, there have been a few fans wanting Real Madrid to off-load him.

Many of them certainly do not categorize him as a player of Real Madrid quality while the reality is contrary. When Rodrygo is on the field, he makes things happen, he makes a difference. He is a great player with lightning pace, superb skills, and sharp finishing.

Not only this, in his last two years at the club, Zinedine Zidane had made him a super-sub. He was the main preference for Zidane when the team needed a push. While being injured for most of the time this season and playing only 1299 minutes, he managed to score 2 goals and register 7 assists in his name averaging a goal or an assist every 145 minutes.

Isn’t that impressive? What more would you want from a 20-year-old performing at such-a higher level from such a young age? I’m sure Rodrygo will establish himself very well in the near future and I think that we all should start appreciating this youngster for what he is delivering at the moment given his best years are yet to come.
