LUKA JOVIC – REAL MADRID FORWARD

Luka Jovic signed for Real Madrid from Eintracht Frankfurt for a whopping sum of 65 million euros in 2019 after being personally requested for by Zinedine Zidane. The Serbian international faced a similar fate to that of Odegaard for one season and a half, which is why he went on a loan spell back to his former club in January.

After having a mixed bag of performances in Germany this season, the lethal marksman will be given a final opportunity to flourish under Ancelotti before possibly being transfer listed if he does not perform. The fixture against Rangers will be particularly important for him as Jovic would play against clubs of similar wavelength in La Liga and the Champions League for large parts of the season.

One of the drawbacks with Jovic is that Madrid signed him only at the back of one good season, so he is far from a foolproof signing by Florentino Perez. In addition to that, there is little interest for him from other teams around Europe, due to his sky-high wages.

It remains to be seen how well Jovic takes his opportunities this time around, as this may be the final chance he gets.
