ALVARO ODRIOZOLA

Alvaro Odriozola ended last season on a run of consecutive starts as Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez both remained injured. Despite putting in decent displays over April and May, it looks very unlikely that the Spanish international will have a future at the club, especially considering the number of right-backs that are already at the Italian manager’s disposal.

Ancelotti will be able to call upon Carvajal, whereas the number of wingers Real Madrid have at the moment could mean that Vazquez is also exclusively an option for the full back’s role. In addition to that, Nacho and Eder Militao are also capable of playing in that role- which puts Odriozola’s chances of featuring for the team very low in the coach’s pecking order.

He could be another player who faces a similar situation like Mariano, however, there remains a possibility that Odriozola, the former Real Sociedad right back chooses to leave the club. In fact, it could be the right decision for him given that he is still young and stands a chance of featuring for his national team given that he was called up in the past as well.

Which other player from the team do you think faces a blurry future following Ancelotti’s appointment?
