3. Real Sociedad LW Mikel Oyarzabal

Another key player for his side, the Spaniard Mikel Oyarzabal has undoubtedly been one of the best wingers of La Liga this season. He registered a whopping 19 goal contributions in the league, 11 out of them were goals, and the rest eight, assists. He also scored one goal apiece in the Copa Del Rey and the Super Cup.

There was never any doubt that he would be called up for the Spanish national side for the Euros. The La Real man appeared 33 times in the season, 13 in his more preferred left-wing position, and transitioned between the wider right positions in the midfield. He played as an ideal winger should, registering an average of 1.2 successful crosses in 54 appearances for club and country.

Very recently he also registered a goal in the European Championships against Croatia in a campaign that remained limited for him. He was only given cameo appearances until the semifinal against Italy, an opportunity he couldn’t capitalize on. But that doesn’t go to negate the fact that he was one of the most impressive wingers in the league last season. WhoScored even rated him an average of 7.05 for all his performances in La Liga.

He maintained a good enough defensive record, chipping in at times when necessary. His game most importantly concentrated on his offensive prowess where the Spaniard shined. He registered key passes at an average of 1.4 per game and won his side at least one freekick every match. In the end, he remained central to La Real’s campaign that featured a Copa del Rey title, a late final of 2020 played in 2021.
