Real Madrid are likely to sign just Kylian Mbappe this summer, that too because there is still darkness on the end of the tunnel with regard to his future at Paris Saint-Germain.

David Alaba was obviously a free agent, but a worthy signing nevertheless for the defensive overhaul. Some other players who Real Madrid have been interested in signing may have to wait until 2022 at least, as the board of directors are centred and dreaming over Mbappe’s signing this summer. Regardless of his signing, the squad will need a continued rebuilding.

One must remember that players like Karim Benzema, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and Marcelo will not suffice forever and especially in the current footballing world, spending money is the only way to compete against oligarchies like Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, apart from other cash strapped clubs like Chelsea.

Whether the European Super League occurs or not, Florentino Perez has taken note of that and knows that flexing the club’s financial supremacy could be the future of the sport. Plus, he will not have the excuse of a pandemic crippling the club’s funds a year later as the world continues to make a recovery for good and so do the football clubs, who will host fans at stadiums very soon.

Which three signings are likely to join Real Madrid in 2022?
