PAUL POGBA – MIDFIELDER

Paul Pogba is set to be a free agent this year and may not renew his contract at Manchester United. In the last few years, the France international has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, but the Whites have been repeatedly hesitant in spending a record amount on signing him, more so due to their world-class midfield which has been in place for some years.

However, the former Juventus superstar may be very difficult to look past when he is a free agent. Real Madrid could capitalize on him like they did on David Alaba, and Pogba’s own desire to play at the Santiago Bernabeu could make him reject advances from some other clubs, just like Alaba did. As a free agent, he will be warmly welcomed, more so considering the situation of current mids.

Kroos is expected to hang up his boots in 2023 when his contract with Real Madrid expires, whereas Modric, who will be turning 36 years old in September, is nearing an inevitable end to his career despite being top class at his age. Pogba would be a fantastic signing and one should judge his true potential by seeing him in the French national side as opposed to Manchester United.
