Real Madrid hired Carlo Ancelotti from Everton last month in order to replace Zinedine Zidane as head coach. The Italian will have to work with limited resources.

For Florentino Perez and his board of directors, it’s Kylian Mbappe or nothing at the moment, so if the Whites fail to sign the Paris Saint-Germain youngster, then the former manager will have to begin his second spell at the club on the back of a squad containing several youngsters.

One of the reasons why Zidane was severely criticized by the fans and the media was his lack of propensity to use younger players. The Frenchman effectively froze out some promising talents unless he needed to use them desperately, such as in times of the injury crisis which left the team in shambles towards the end of the 2020/21 season.

Ancelotti will look to learn from his predecessor’s mistakes and would have also been given a nudge by the club to show faith in the younger players. The 63-year-old is an experienced manager in working with players of various profiles and Real Madrid will be hoping that he manages to get the long-term investments to click right from the start of the 2021/22 campaign.

Which are the three players who are likely to flourish under the manager?
