Gareth Bale’s future at Real Madrid continues to remain uncertain. The Welshman is part of Carlo Ancelotti’s plans for the 2021-22 season after the Italian spoke highly of him during his first press conference. However, Los Blancos could be forced into offloading the former Tottenham Hotspur player due to his humongous wages that the club simply cannot afford any longer if they are to sign Kylian Mbappe as well.

A shadow of doubt continues to loom over Bale’s future and only time will tell what’s in store for the Welsh international. However, if Real Madrid does consider offloading Gareth Bale this summer, are there any options/suitors in the market for the superstar? Or, has he also become an immoveable asset like Eden Hazard? Let’s have a look at three clubs that Bale could be sold to this summer.

A MOVE FROM REAL MADRID TO THE CHINESE SUPER LEAGUE

In the summer of 2019, Gareth Bale was all set to complete a move to China where he would play for Jiangsu Suning in the Chinese Super League. The decision was taken to offload Bale who was no longer part of Zinedine Zidane’s plans.

The transfer to China was in fact 90% done, according to the manager of Jiangsu Suning. However, the transfer collapsed at the final minute after Real Madrid demanded a transfer fee which is against the regulations in the CSL when signing players.

The move was called off and Bale continued at the Spanish capital. The right-winger played 16 games in La Liga before being confined to the bench under Zidane and was then subsequently loaned out to Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the season.

Real Madrid are now open to the idea of parting ways with Bale who has one year left on his contract. Although the Merengues will not receive a transfer fee if he signs for a CSL club, they would still get him off the payroll which is exactly what the club is aiming for.

For Bale, a move to the CSL would be a decent option as the Chinese clubs have a reputation of paying mammoth wages to their foreign marquee players. He could play out the final few years of his career at a comparatively easier league while earning sky-high wages.
