Real Madrid: Three possible destinations to offload Gareth Bale
RETURN TO TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR
It’s a pity that Tottenham Hotspur fans were not able to witness Gareth Bale’s performances at the stadium for the vast majority of last season. The Welsh international completed a sensational return to Tottenham last summer and finished the season as the third highest goal-scorer.
Upon his return, Bale bagged 16 goals for Spurs in all competitions, proving that he still has what it takes to perform at the highest level. While Gareth Bale has decided to continue at Real Madrid and see out the final year of his contract, a return to Tottenham could still be on the cards.
If the Lilywhites end up losing Harry Kane, who reportedly wants out this summer, then Spurs could turn their attention towards Bale who performed admirably last season and could be a key player under Nuno Espirito Santo next season.
The first option would be a permanent transfer. Real Madrid would certainly not demand an astronomical figure for the 32-year-old and a fee around 15-20 million euros would most certainly suffice. However, it is uncertain whether or not Spurs can afford Bale’s wages. The next option would be loaning out him once again with Spurs paying 50% of his wages or more.
