2. MARCO ASENSIO

Real Madrid’s right-wing hasn’t seen a proper replacement ever since Gareth Bale’s performances saw a massive decline that resulted in his loan move to Tottenham Hotspur. The said position now rotates between the likes of Rodrygo Goes and Marco Asensio and at times even Eden Hazard.

But, the problem here is that none of these players has been able to make that position his own. Rodrygo Goes among the mentioned players has the most potential and could be seen developing a bright future with the club. Eden Hazard, as it seems, would be a part of Carlo Ancelotti’s plans for next season. That leaves us with Marco Asensio.

Asensio, in my opinion, is still capable of attracting interest from bigger European clubs. He still has a deadly left-foot strike. A few of his goals from last season have been absolute delights to watch. The one-touch finish for the equalizer against Sevilla towards the end of the season or the near post finish against Atalanta in the second leg of their Round of 16 fixture of the Champions League comes to mind.

He can benefit from a move to a club where he’d be given a bigger role and wouldn’t just be kept to be used as a last-minute trump card. His ability to play for big clubs can make him a valuable swap-asset to have. He could particularly be instrumental in a like-for-like deal for a forward, which at the moment tops the club’s priority list of tasks for the summer.
